Many students want to share about an important person or family member in their life in their college essays. The challenge with this is making sure that the essay is still about the applicant, not just the important person. Elizabeth does a great job of incorporating that important person, her grandmother, while still keeping the focus on herself, what she learned from that specific moment, how that impacted her life.


The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard possible. Kauffman carries a 4.0 grade point average and is driven and dedicated both in the classroom and on the wrestling mat.

I-LEAP provides support to undergraduates enrolled in the College of Applied Health Sciences who are first-generation students, students from underrepresented groups, student athletes, and those recognized by the President Awards Program (PAP) and Educational Opportunities Program (EOP).
